Electrician-First Class (0751)

Installs, maintains, repairs, tests and adjusts electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensures that work is in accordance with specifications and relevant codes.

Specific responsibilities include :

• Installs, maintains, repairs, tests and adjusts electrical equipment, wiring and fixtures.
• Inspects, cleans, repairs transformers, inverters, motor alternators, automatic transfer switches, switchboard relays.
• Inspects, cleans and makes all repairs to all repairs to lighting circuits, replaces fuses and circuit breakers.
• Installs and repairs substation power traction equipment, bus bars and wiring, repairs motors and motor controls.
• Maintains power service to all electrical apparatus.
