Position Summary
Sheboygan Senior Community is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis . This position involves providing and directing physical therapy services for adult and geriatric patients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The goal is to help patients reach their maximum functional potential within a medical model of care.
This is a great opportunity for a professional seeking flexibility with a commitment of just 4 hours one weekend day per month .
Key Responsibilities
Provide therapeutic interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist.Assist with evaluation, treatment planning, and goal-setting for patients.Conduct individual and group therapy sessions focused on strength, mobility, coordination, balance, and functional skills.Monitor and document patient progress, adapting interventions as necessary.Participate in discharge planning and patient / family education.Supervise rehabilitation technicians, students, and volunteers as needed.Maintain compliance with all safety, documentation, and confidentiality standards (including HIPAA).Uphold high standards of professionalism and customer service at all times.Qualifications
Associates Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Wisconsin.Commitment to continuing education and professional development.Ability to work independently with occasional supervision.Comfortable working with geriatric and physically or cognitively compromised patients.Must be physically capable of lifting 50100 lbs, assisting with patient transfers, and performing duties that require standing, stooping, reaching, and walking.Preferred Skills
Experience in a senior care or long-term care setting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Basic computer proficiency and ability to document care electronically.A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
