The Christmas Kettle Driver is primarily responsible for transporting bell ringers, stands, buckets and bells to and from specified locations per the daily route schedule. Driver will also assist with Angel tree campaign dropping off supplies and picking up toys as needed.

Must complete Protecting the Mission child safety training within 30 days of hire.

Must possess a valid Driver's License and be a minimum of 21 years old.

Must possess the ability to work as part of a dynamic, high performing team and maintain confidentiality.

Must have the ability to relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds and communicate well with the general public.

Willingness to accept and support the mission of The Salvation Army.

Be flexible and open to new ideas, concepts, and ways of doing things while keeping pace with multiple priorities.

Possess the ability to work well independently and in a detailed, professional and courteous manner.

Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Able to complete The Salvation Army driving test.

Microsoft Office Suite helpful

Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.

Beginning of the season work with the Kettle Assistant and Corps Officer to deliver and store signs and stands according to store managers instructions prior to the first day of kettles. Also assist with preparing all equipment for the first day.

Daily review of assigned kettle route and bell ringer supplies.

Transportation of bell ringers to their assigned location.

Clock in bell ringers on kettle slips noting the time they were dropped off and clock them out noting the time they are picked up. If the bell ringer provides their own transportation, their beginning and ending times will be when the driver arrives to drop off and pick up the kettle.

Assist the Corps Officers and Kettle Coordinator in the supervision of bell ringers, observing and reporting on their appearance and performance to ensure The Salvation Army is being represented appropriately.

Provide bell ringers with instructions and guidance conveyed by the Corps Officers and Kettle Coordinator.

Provide periodic coverage to unmanned kettles at the direction of the Corps Officers and Kettle Coordinator.

Nightly retrieval of bell ringers, buckets, aprons and bells. Ensure kettle stand is properly stored per store manager's directions.

Provide support of the Angel tree program by dropping off collection boxes and angel tags, setting up trees, picking up toys at locations throughout the season and picking up boxes and trees at end of season. Prepare a log sheet and record numbers of items picked up from specific locations as requested by Corps Officer.

Ensure kettle slips are complete and signed by bell ringer before placing them in the bucket at the end of each shift.

Report all accidents, problems and incidents to Corps Officers and Kettle Coordinator.

Adherence to employee dress codes while working.

Other seasonal duties as assigned by Corps Officers and Kettle Coordinator.

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis

Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead

Ability to operate telephone

Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)

Ability to access and produce information from a computer

Ability to understand written information

Work is performed intermittently between a normal office environment and in a TSA vehicle, driving throughout the community. Will be exposed to winter weather when traveling through community.

Monday through Saturday, morning hours to take out kettles and evening hours to pick up (10am-12 : 30pm, 5-7 : 30pm approximately), starting at The Salvation Army Great Falls Corps with travel throughout the community.
