Support powder compaction process, from lab processes to full magnet production processes and complete process development, qualification, and continuous improvement on these processes.
Oversee die set qualification for each magnet part number issued to the floor.
Support magnet production tool commissioning with future state press engineering.
Identify, implement, and qualify improvement opportunities for the process and equipment.
Implement performance specs & KPI’s for pressing operations.
Create standard operating procedures for magnet pressing processes and tooling and maintain as required when process changes are re-qualified.
Oversee ground level SPC for magnet pressing, set control chart limits and targets, and troubleshoot process excursions and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with equipment engineering to create preventive maintenance schedules to fit within production requirements.
BACKGROUND PROFILE :
5+ years powders metal press experience on electromechanical / hydraulic presses
Expertise in powder pressing processes & hardware, ideally with experience in magnetic materials / powders
Ideally, greater than 200 Ton force press experience in hydraulic powered systems
Direct set-up and operating experience – this is hands on, day-to-day op’s on first shift, with the ability to train next operator candidates for off shifts and next presses
Ability to author SOP’s, Work Instructions and Operations manuals
Ability to train other operators / technicians
MS office fluency in Excel, Word, PPT
PREFERRED :
Experience with Gantt charting / MS Project use
Experience with some CAD package to use as a communication tool / redline parts / tooling
