Sterile Processing Technician
Join our dynamic team as a Sterile Processing Technician working in a laboratory environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of surgical instruments and laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, inspect, wrap, sterilize, and distribute instruments, instrument trays, basins, and equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of various types of reusable surgical instrumentation, including power equipment and micro surgical instruments.
- Clean patient care equipment such as IV pumps, feeding pumps, pneumatic pumps, CPM machines, PCA, and hypo / hyperthermia units.
- Monitor sterilization processes, maintain records, and participate in quality assurance programs.
- Meet regulatory requirements for sterilization, high-level disinfection, biological monitoring, and employee competencies.
- Accurately document daily records of all quality assurance and sterilization functions according to regulatory agency and Infection Control standards.
- Adhere to organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Inspect, disassemble, sort, clean, and process reusable instrumentation and equipment.
- Select and operate specialized cleaning equipment and follow device manufacturers' cleaning guidelines.
- Maintain adequate cleaning supplies and reprocess endoscopes.
- Identify, inspect, and assemble all general and specialty instruments, including various power equipment, laser, and endoscopes.
Essential Skills
Experience with sterilization and surgical instrumentation.Proficiency in aseptic technique and laboratory instrumentation.Ability to operate autoclaves and perform sterile processing.Familiarity with decontamination and cleanroom procedures.Skill in equipment maintenance and lab support.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with sterilization monitoring, record keeping, and quality assurance programs.Knowledge of regulatory requirements for sterilization and high-level disinfection.Ability to document daily quality assurance and sterilization functions.Familiarity with organizational and departmental policies and procedures.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00 / hr.
