Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Wheeling, WV 26003 (West Virginia nursing jobs) Facility Setting : Acute Care – Medical / Surgical Unit (4th Floor) Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 15 / 2025 – End : 2 / 14 / 2026) Shift : 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715), including scheduled weekends Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Pay : $1820–$1950 Patient Ratio : 1 : 6-7 EMR System : Allscripts - Sunrise EMR Floating : May float to other Medical / Surgical or Med / Surg / Oncology units Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (open to candidates awaiting West Virginia RN licensure) Minimum 1 year of recent Medical / Surgical nursing experience required Current BLS (AHA) certification required NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required Experience with peritoneal dialysis highly preferred Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled Must provide a valid, unexpired driver’s license upon submission Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-operative orthopedic, neurology, and general surgery patients, as well as those with medical diagnoses (COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis) Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including hospitalists, intensivists, CNAs, and IV therapy staff Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and document care using Allscripts - Sunrise EMR Participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development for clinical support Float to other Med / Surg units as needed, adapting to various patient populations Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team in Wheeling, WV, and take the next step in your nursing career!
