Position Overview :

Akicita Federal is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Internal Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive medical care to adult patients at the Indian Health Service facility located in Ogema, Minnesota . The ideal candidate will have experience working in rural or underserved communities and a commitment to delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive care. This position supports IHSs mission to raise the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide primary and specialty care to adult patients in an outpatient and / or inpatient setting.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and infectious diseases.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans.
• Coordinate care with other medical providers, nurses, pharmacists, and behavioral health professionals.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in accordance with IHS policies.
• Educate patients on preventive health measures, wellness, and chronic disease management.
• Participate in community outreach and culturally relevant health education efforts.
• May be required to provide on-call coverage or assist in emergency care situations as needed.

$200 - $240 an hour

Compensation details : 200-240 Hourly Wage
