About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in Pediatric Cardiac ICU

License : RN license (local or multi-state / compact)

Certifications : PALS, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS preferred

Must-Have :

VAD experience is highly preferred.

First-timers are accepted.

Description :

The Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provides care for patients with congenital heart disease of any age based on care needs.

The unit features a 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 patient-to-nurse ratio, depending on acuity.

Weekend shifts require 4 shifts in a 4-week schedule with a holiday rotation.

Travelers may float within the facility to meet needs.

The average daily census in the unit is 26 with a mix of cardiac surgical and medical diagnoses.

Common procedures include cardiac surgery, ventricular assist devices, heart transplants, cardiac catheterization, and management of various medical diagnoses.

The unit also provides ECMO and CRRT along with other complex therapies.

Pediatrics palliative care is available as needed.

The staffing mix includes registered nurses, patient care technicians, and unit secretaries with additional support from respiratory therapy, pediatric dietitians, and pharmacists.

All beds in the unit are monitored.

The environment offers interdisciplinary support with various health professionals available for patient care.

Healthcare professionals must adhere to a strict compliance process for employment.
