Senior Manager of Analytics
Alaska Airlines is looking for a Senior Manager of Analytics to lead analytics strategy, data science, and business intelligence reporting. This role involves managing a team of Business Intelligence Managers, Data Scientists, and Analysts to provide business intelligence, advanced analytic modeling, and analysis to drive performance, growth, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have experience in data science, business intelligence, and leadership.
Key duties include :
- Leading the team and establishing priorities to execute on strategy using advanced analytics and data science methods.
- Shaping the overall business intelligence and data strategy and driving execution through divisional management systems and reporting.
- Owning and driving development of divisional management systems to ensure organizational goals and performance oversight are accurate, actionable, and consistent.
- Influencing senior leadership on the creation of roadmap and specific strategies to leverage analytics and data science methods to drive value creation.
- Overseeing the creation and accuracy of revenue forecast and creating alignment and trust with stakeholders.
- Partnering with technology leaders on the overall strategy and direction of enterprise data strategy and technology roadmap.
- Collaborating with technology teams on the approach and execution of advanced analytics within the technology portfolio.
- Developing people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback.
- Overseeing advanced research and analytic projects and presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Incorporating AGILE and software development methods with technology business units to deploy production-level analytic solutions.
- Shaping the culture of the team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
Required experience, education, and skills include :
7 years of experience in data science, business intelligence, or related analytics.4 years of leadership experience with some direct people management experience.Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or related fields, or an additional two years of training / experience in lieu of this degree.Demonstrated experience in developing teams and building strong stakeholder relationships.Experience with process design and AGILE practices.Experience with operations research techniques.Experience with version control software and tools.Proven knowledge working with relational databases.Demonstrated experience working with large, complex data sets and disparate data sources across various platforms.Preferred qualifications include :
Master's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, information systems, or another quantitative field.Master's in Business Administration.Experience with Azure or other cloud providers.Experience with databricks for data engineering, modeling, and deployment.Experience with distributed computing platforms.Experience with statistics / machine learning packages.Advanced SQL skills.Demonstrated experience working with NoSQL data sources.Proven proficiency in visualization techniques, dashboard design, decision support tools, and automation.Proven proficiency in programming languages.Excellent communication skills.Salary range : $165,500 - $256,550 / year. Pay will be based on multiple factors including location, relevant experience, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska / Hawaiian / Horizon employees.
