Salary Range : $55, 000 - $75,000

Assistant Education, Sports, and Arts Director

The Assistant Education, Sports, and Arts Director provides recreational, cultural and educational programs for all Bessemer Housing Authority residents. Assists with the budget, oversees the upkeep and maintenance of the facility, and supervise, train and support assigned staff and volunteers. Assists with the development, planning and implementation procedures, systems and methods to promote program growth, safety, and unity through program participation and facility excellence. May provide transportation to program participants.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of a degree in Human Services, Social and Behavioral Science, Business Administration, Communications, Recreation or Physical Education, or related field with work experience in operations, education and recreation with two years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of computers and software applications related to education, sports and recreation.
• Valid Alabama driver's license.
• Experience designing and overseeing recreation programs and activities to include senior programs, youth sports, community events, and sports leagues.
• Sensory and Inclusion First Responder Certification.
• Maintain CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
• Must be available for meetings or activities outside regular work hours including overnight travel.
