At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

This role is a Product Development Manager within Blue Origin's Engines business unit, leading delivery of safetycritical engine avionics hardware-primarily Engine Controllers-for costoptimized, reusable propulsion systems that support commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight missions. You serve as the singlethreaded leader for an assigned product scope, owning programmatic delivery and the technical plan to meet negotiated customer requirements and internal design criteria such as producibility, product cost, lifecycle cost, and reliability, all aligned to lowering the cost of access to space.

You oversee the technical quality and execution of complex, interdisciplinary engineering work, ensuring cohesive collaboration across electronic design, mechanical enclosure design, and new product introduction manufacturing. The role includes establishing technical standards, development processes, and analytical capabilities, while driving continuous improvement and sharing lessons learned across Blue Engines programs to enhance system performance and maturity.

As a people leader, you directly manage electrical and mechanical engineers and related disciplines, setting assignments, guiding professional growth, and conducting rigorous, thoughtful performance management. You own the full employee lifecycle-hiring the right talent, coaching and developing the team, and building a positive, productive culture that complies with HR processes and policies.

Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, program leadership, and a commitment to quality and safety. You will help build highreliability avionics solutions through tightknit, collaborative teamwork, positively impacting safe human spaceflight while demonstrating passion for Blue Origin's mission and vision.

  • Coordinate and partner with Enterprise functions such as Operations and Supply Chain to drive product cost and meet delivery objectives.
  • Partner with other Business Units and centralized Blue avionics hardware teams on driving electronic hardware design and component re-use.

Employee Management :

  • Foster an environment of continuous growth and learning, ensuring compliance with HR processes and policies.
  • Technical Leadership :

  • Own the overall lifecycle of assigned avionics hardware products from development through qualification / rate production and successful cost-optimized commercial flight operations.
