The Role
Special Events & Fundraising Volunteer Program Coordinator who will plan, coordinate and implement successful events, in collaboration with staff and volunteer leadership, to raise funds for and promote community awareness of Red Cross services. Develop and execute plans to identify, cultivate, solicit, and recognize event underwriters / sponsors and other event participants. Serve as the regional development team's first point of contact for community inquiries, responding as appropriate via phone and written correspondence. Provide staff support for relevant committees and leadership guidance to all volunteers. Manage the engagement of volunteers through regular communications, appreciation events, and collaboration with staff.
Provide administrative support for the fundraising leadership team through coordination of special projects, department meetings and other duties as assigned. Perform all duties in compliance with standard operating procedures and applicable regulations.

The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee may reach with hands and arms, and may occasionally stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment is typical office with moderate noise. The employee must be able to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.
