About The Position

Job Title : Surgical Technician-NCA

Profession : Tech

Hours per Shift : 6 : 30 AM - 3 : 00 PM

Experience : Two (2) years of surgical tech experience required, experience in ortho, general, OB / GYN, eyes, and spine preferred.

License : Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS)

Must-Have : High School Diploma or GED

Description :

The Surgical Technician-NCA assists other members of the healthcare team in the delivery of patient care during the intra-operative period.

The major focus for this position is the preparation and handling of instrumentation and surgical equipment and assisting the surgeon during surgical procedures.

This individual administers care and utilizes equipment applications based on the age and needs of the patient population served, ranging from neonates to geriatric patients.

The Surgical Technician must be knowledgeable of specific procedures or specialties.

They should effectively prioritize, plan, and problem-solve due to the changing nature of work situations during surgical procedures.

This individual must have the ability to recognize the need for immediate response during urgent or emergency situations.

The Surgical Technician should also possess basic knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system, and aseptic technique, applying this knowledge during all patient and family interactions.

This role requires displaying aseptic technique in performance of surgical duties to ensure positive patient outcomes.

The technician demonstrates responsibility for the care, preparation, handling, and maintenance of surgical instrumentation.

They consistently perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to established policies and procedures.

Demonstrating knowledge and adherence to professional standards of practice is essential.
