Assist with intubations & capable to handle on ventilator and respiratory supportive equipment independently of RT in unitAssist with procedural & surgical bedside skills : UAC / UVC / PICC line placement & surgical procedures such as Broviac insertion; removal of cysts / growths in mouth / skin, circumcisions, etcIV insertion proficiencyAssist with ophthalmology examinationsAssist with chest tube insertions and maintenance of equipment : chest tube drainage, collection, water seal, and suction devicesAssist with Lumbar PuncturesPhlebotomy skills to obtain lab specimensInsertion of ng / nj tubes and maintenance of equipment including knowledge of how to feed patient utilizing these suppliesIndependently insert NG / Salem sump to intermittent and continuous suctionWound & Ostomy care and supplies associatedAll nursing care related to a Level III NICU and Small Baby ProtocolComprehension how to use : Emergency ("code" or "crash") cart with emergency drugs with size / weight appropriate neonatal unit doseHow and when to use a defibrillatorAbility to assist with Exchange Transfusion : Including set up and calculationsCompetent in use of Usual & Customary NICU equipment independentlyPreferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.
