  • Duration : 13-week contract\n
  • Start Date : November 3, 2025\n
  • End Date : February 2, 2026\n
  • Shift : Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07 : 00 - 19 : 30)\n
  • Hours per Week : 36\n
  • Weekend / Holiday Coverage : Every other weekend & must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays\n

  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2200-$2360\n

    • \n\nCVICU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in CVICU or SICU with CVICU training\n
  • Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of application\n
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required\n
  • Stroke CEUs preferred\n
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred\n
  • Ability to float to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding, and IMC units\n
  • Proficiency with fresh open heart procedures (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR), post-op cardiac recovery, Swan-Ganz, FloTrac, temp pacers, A-lines, ventilators, chest tubes, Impella, IABP, CRRT (Prismaflex), and related cardiac devices\n
  • Charge nurse experience preferred\n
  • Flexible to work assigned schedule (no block scheduling)\n
  • Professional references required\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Responsibilities\n \n

  • Provide expert nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the CVICU, including fresh open heart and complex cardiac cases\n
  • Assist with chest tube insertion / removal, BiPAP / CPAP management, and ventilator care\n
  • Monitor and interpret 12-lead EKGs, arterial blood gases, and cardiac dysrhythmias\n
  • Manage central lines, PICC lines, lumbar drains, and arterial lines\n
  • Administer blood products, emergency medications, and titrate cardiac / vasoactive drips\n
  • Operate advanced cardiac devices (Impella, IABP, LVAD / RVAD, CRRT)\n
  • Float to other critical care units as needed, adapting to varying patient ratios and acuity\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response\n
  • Maintain strict infection prevention and isolation protocols\n
  • Participate in ongoing clinical training and complete required modules, including EPIC EHR training\n
