Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Home Health Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 24 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Unit Description - Wound Ostomy Nurse (RN) Role : Clinical Nurse - Wound and Ostomy Primary Duties & Responsibilities : Serves as the clinical expert for wound, ostomy, and continence care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Provides direct wound and ostomy care, including assessment, treatment, and ongoing management. Educates patients and families on ostomy and wound care management both pre- and post-operatively. Conducts evaluations of wound care products, dressings, and related equipment. Provides education, in-services, and bedside teaching for nursing staff on wound and skin integrity care. Assesses all patients with pressure injuries staged at 3 or higher and all hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPI). Participates in reporting and documentation of HAPI cases and monitors prevention initiatives. Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop evidence-based skin and wound care protocols. Stays current with advances in wound and skin care and disseminates best practices among clinical teams. Job Knowledge, Skills & Competencies : Expertise in wound and ostomy management. Education & Experience : Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Required. Minimum 4 years of clinical nursing experience. At least 2 years of wound and ostomy nursing experience - Preferred. Licensure & Certifications : Required : Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license - State of California. Wound and Ostomy Certification. Preferred : None. Reporting Structure : Reports To : Nursing Manager - Wound Healing Center. Supervises : None. Physical Requirements : Standing : 3-6 hours per shift. Walking : 3-6 hours per shift. Sitting : More than 6 hours per shift. Carrying / Lifting : 0-25 lbs up to 3 hours. Bending, Stooping, Squatting, Kneeling, Twisting, Reaching : Up to 3 hours. Hearing and visual acuity required. Repetitive hand use required. No climbing or heavy lifting (above 25 lbs).
