Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an entry-level hydrology & hydraulics engineer to join our collaborative and innovative water resources team in Middleton, WI.
Responsibilities include :
- Analyzing dam and hydropower facilities, water conveyance systems, levee systems, bridges / culverts, watersheds and floodplains
- Construction document and cost development
- Report writing, quality control reviews, client communication
- Designing water resources and other civil engineering projects
Some travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have :
A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or closely related engineering field from an accredited college or university -OR be able to obtain degree within three months of hire dateThe ideal candidate will have any / all of the following :
Previous H&H, civil, or closely related engineering internship(s), or 1-2 years of relevant hydrology and hydraulics work experienceFluids, open channel hydraulics, and municipal hydraulics coursework or work experienceWatershed hydrology coursework or work experienceCoastal engineering coursework or work experienceExperience with H&H modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, HydroCAD)Experience with spreadsheet and coding solutions for engineering applications (e.g., MS Excel, VBA, Python, or MATLAB)Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3DExperience with ESRI GIS (ArcGIS Pro or similar) products for data editing and geoprocessing workflowsExperience working with teams to prepare products and deliverables on time and within a specified budgetExperience writing technical reportsExperience presenting to clients / ownersHave passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or possess the Engineer in Training (EIT) certificationIf you have strong communication and organizational skills, are self-motivated, and can work well both independently and as part of a team, complete the online application process for this job posting at www.meadhunt.com / careers.
