The Department of Social Services (DSS) is comprised of the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). HRA is dedicated to fighting poverty and income inequality by providing New Yorkers in need with essential benefits such as Food Assistance and Emergency Rental Assistance. DHS is committed to preventing and addressing homelessness in New York City by employing a variety of innovative strategies to help families and individuals successfully exit shelter and return to self-sufficiency as quickly as possible.
The Office of Procedures provides the critical link between policy development and worker execution of the agency programs. Up-to-date, well-written procedures, supported with effective training, provide workers with the knowledge and standards required to operate agency's program consistently and effectively.
Under the direction of the Technical Graphic Design Director, with latitude for independent judgment and initiative, the Graphic Artist II designs and edits form, notices, letters, brochures, posters, flyers and related materials using a high level of graphic skills and specialized graphic computer software. This individual liaises with DSS / HRA / DHS offices to assure graphics in department materials meet the standards of the Agency and appropriately reflect intended objective.
