Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

End Date : 18-week contract (Minimum end date : January 10, 2026)

Duration : 18 weeks

Shift : Night Shift (7 : 30 PM – 8 : 00 AM)

Schedule : 3x12-hour shifts / week

Hours : 36 hours / week

Self-Scheduling : Yes

Position Overview

University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center is seeking experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses for a night shift travel contract. RNs will manage laboring patients, assist in deliveries, circulate for C-sections, and provide postpartum and neonatal care in a high-acuity environment. The facility averages 100–200 births per month and requires participation in every other weekend rotation.

Skills & Competencies

Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 (Days, Nights, Weekends)

Key Clinical Skills :

Assist with vaginal deliveries

Vaginal and Cesarean postpartum management

Pitocin (oxytocin), Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Insulin drips

Phlebotomy, IV starts / maintenance

Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
