About The Position We are seeking an experienced Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner for a 7-day locum tenens assignment in Illinois. This opportunity begins on Nov 24, 2025, and features overnight shifts from 7p-7a across multiple hospital sites, providing nocturnist med surg coverage at critical access and trauma facilities. Job Details Location : Illinois Facility Type : Hospital Start Date : Nov 24, 2025 LOA : 7 days Provider Type Needed : Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner Schedule : 7p-7a overnight shifts; rotating coverage among multiple hospital sites; 10-12 shifts / month available Responsibilities and Duties Provide nocturnist hospitalist coverage for med surg patients at critical access and trauma hospitals Independently manage patient admissions and acute care overnight, with varying acuity and volume Operate as the sole provider at critical access locations with no staff support (Jacksonville and Lincoln sites) Manage 3-4 admits / night at higher acuity sites and 1-2 admits / night at lower acuity sites Collaborate with MD and APP teams at trauma level 1 facilities, supporting up to 10-12 admits / night Utilize Meditech, CPSI, Epic, and Cerner EMR systems as appropriate to each site Ensure high-quality patient care while adapting to different hospital protocols and EMR platforms Additional Information Current Illinois nurse practitioner license required Hospitalist experience strongly preferred Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Ability to work independently and confidently in critical access hospital settings Flexibility to rotate among multiple hospital sites and adapt to different EMR systems Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
