Job Title : TM1 Developer

Location : New York, NY (Hybrid Onsite)

Duration : 6 months

We are seeking a TM1 Developer to join our team. This role will involve designing, developing, and implementing Cognos TM1 Planning Analytics (2.1) solutions that support enterprise-level financial and analytical processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in TM1 architecture, data modeling, ETL, and performance optimization , along with a passion for delivering high-quality business intelligence solutions.

Job Description

As a TM1 Developer , you will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial and analytical models using Cognos TM1, Oracle, and Workiva . The TM1 Developer will work closely with finance, business, and IT stakeholders to design scalable TM1 applications, streamline reporting processes, and enhance data visibility across the organization. You will play a key role in system migrations, performance tuning, and architecting multi-server Cognos environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement complex Cognos TM1 Planning Analytics (2.1) models, workflows, and business rules.

Build and optimize TI processes, chores, and complex rule sets for large-scale applications.

Develop web sheets (static and active forms) and TM1 contributor web applications for interactive reporting.

Architect and manage distributed multi-server Cognos environments , including installation, configuration, and capacity planning.

Lead and execute migration from TM1 2.0.9 to IBM Planning Analytics (2.1) .

Implement Planning Analytics TM1 solutions using TM1 Rules, TI Processes, PAx, and PAW.

Design and develop ETL processes for integrating data from Oracle and other relational databases .

Build and maintain financial models and dashboards for forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.

Collaborate with business and technical teams to define requirements, design data models, and ensure solution scalability.

Utilize MS Excel and Workiva to enhance reporting capabilities and streamline data visualization.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers on TM1 design best practices.

Essential Skills and Experience

8 10 years of hands-on experience with Cognos TM1 Planning Analytics (2.1) .

Strong expertise in TM1 Architect, Performance Modeler, and Contributor Web .

Proficiency in developing TI processes, complex rules, and workflow customization .

Experience migrating from TM1 2.0.9 to Planning Analytics (2.1) .

Deep understanding of Oracle databases, ETL development, and relational modeling.

Strong knowledge of Excel-based reporting and financial modeling .

Proven experience designing enterprise-wide BI solutions using Cognos TM1 and Cognos BI tools .

Hands-on with Cognos 10 BI tools (Report Studio, Framework Manager, Transformer, PowerPlay) is a plus.

Familiarity with Workiva is an advantage.

Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to interact with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

IBM Certified Developer preferred.
