Job descriptionA minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with design and manufacturing of powertrain components. Valvetrain or timing drive preferred. Understanding of valvetrain / timing drive components and related manufacturing processes, i.e. steel stamping, machining, grinding, heat treatment...etc. Understanding of product development documentation such as, DFMEA and DVP&R Understanding of Mechanics of Materials, Engine cam timing, CAE Analysis, and GD&T Experience in selecting materials and manufacturing methods for mechanical components. Ability to author system / component level requirements Strong interpersonal communication, team / leadership skills / experience Strong oral and written communication skills Strong project management skills / experience Demonstrated understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical systems
Job Description
- Valvetrain & Timing Drive Design Release Engineer is responsible for engineering activities related to development of?Valvetrain and Timing Drive components for gasoline engines.
- Activities include design, development, testing, manufacturing interface, and failure analysis.?
- The release engineer will be a part of a team of engineers for problem solving, product improvement, cost reduction and other issues as needed???
- The Release Engineer will interact with all areas that touch the release of a component. This will include Purchasing,
- Supplier Quality, Engine Plants, Design Group, and Parts & Service.
- Some travel to engine plants and suppliers is required.
- The Design Release Engineer must be a motivated self-starter, willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
