Ultrasonographer Technologist - Radiology-Diagnostic, Varied Shifts, Per Diem
GENERAL SUMMARY
Provides diagnostic imaging services according to accepted standards and protocols and assures patient safety during procedures
FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Diagnostic Procedures :
- Performs all diagnostic procedures following policies and procedures established by the department.
- Adjusts patient care based on age-specific needs.
- Uses all equipment properly and in a manner that minimizes hazards of electric shock.
- Selects appropriate equipment for each individual ultrasound exam.
- Adjusts the equipment controls and selects the correct transducer according to the organ being examined.
- Explains procedures and responds to questions appropriately.
- Scans paperwork into PAC’s System.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the PAC’s System.
- Working knowledge of CD Burning.
- Completes patient charges for each exam in a timely manner.
- Transports patients to and from the department.
- Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
- Determines most suitable position and shields patient for optimum imaging and patient comfort. Follows ALARA principle staff and patients shielding.
- Able to note when order and inclination will not be correct.
Administrative :
Uses computer to access reports.Follows protocols for releasing of images.Assists with administrative responsibilities of the department to include scheduling appointments, answering the phone, etc.Performs all quality controls procedures daily as assigned and maintains appropriate logs.Participates in annual surveys and inspectionsAble to teach / aid students.Special Testing
Demonstrates competency on performing all ultrasound procedures and use of the equipment.Demonstrates knowledge of AS reporting system.Follows proper protocol for the Throphon Disinfection System.Assists with the ultrasound accreditation process.POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
0-1 year
Experience in Ultrasound in a hospital setting preferred

Education
Graduate of an accredited school of radiology technology
Registered / licensed with American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT), RDMS, & RVT
Or equivalent in education and experience
COMPENSATION : Minimum pay : $37.40
Maximum pay : $59.84
