Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in municipal accounting and finance operations, with the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and present findings to leadership.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM (flexible scheduling available)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting functions including data entry, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Support month-end closing activities
• Perform financial analysis and assist in budget tracking
• Complete a capstone project focused on a key accounting or finance process improvement
• Present project findings and recommendations to department leadership
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze data, create reports, and support decision-making
• Provide general administrative and operational support to the Accounting & Finance team
• Participate in team meetings and cross-functional initiatives as needed
