Job Title : Direct Support Specialist for Residential & Day Habilitation Programs

Salary Range : $17.00 per hour (based on experience and assignment)

Education Requirements :

High School diploma or equivalent (required)

Licenses / Certifications Required :

Valid Driver's License (required)

Skills Required :

Strong oral and written communication skills

Professional demeanor and interpersonal abilities

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Proficient with basic computer and office equipment

Physical capability to assist with lifting, mobility, and personal care

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Familiarity with OPWDD standards and DSP Core Competencies

Shift / Schedule Information :

Full-time, 40 hours per week

Must remain on-site until relief staff arrives

On-call or extended hours may be required based on program needs

Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include :

Supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving personal goals

Providing assistance with personal care and hygiene

Administering medications (post-AMAP certification)

Implementing Habilitation and Behavioral Support plans

Documenting service delivery and maintaining daily records

Ensuring a clean, safe, and supportive environment

Driving agency vehicles for appointments and community outings

Participating in staff meetings, trainings, and interdisciplinary planning

Responding effectively to incidents and emergencies

Providing coverage across multiple program sites as needed
