Join our Grand Rapids, MI team as a CNC Reliability & Controls Programmer. You will be the go-to expert who keeps our CNC assets running at their best while writing, refining, and optimizing the programs that power high-quality, efficient output.
A day in your week might look like :
- Morning : Perform proactive checks, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics to keep mills and lathes at peak performance.
- Midday : Create or fine-tune G / M-code programs, optimize toolpaths, validate setups, and align programs to production specifications.
- Afternoon : Partner with production on improvements, conduct inspections and tests for quality and safety compliance, and document machine performance.
- Ongoing : Coach teammates on programming and maintenance best practices while staying current on CNC technology trends.
What you’ll tackle
Preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC equipment to ensure uptime and accuracy.Development, modification, and optimization of CNC programs to meet throughput, quality, and specification targets.Cross-functional collaboration to spot process bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.Routine inspections, testing, and verification to meet safety and quality standards.Detailed documentation of maintenance work and accurate tracking of machine performance.Training and support for team members on programming and maintenance best practices.Continuous learning to track advances in CNC controls, tooling, and methods.What you’ll bring
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC programming or maintenance is preferred.Hands-on CNC programming and maintenance experience; background with aluminum castings and high-volume production is a plus.Strong knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, and programming languages (G-code, M-code).Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and process documentation.Exceptional troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.Technical fluency (your toolbelt)
