Job Overview :

A substitute paraprofessional plays a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and students with special needs, promoting maximum academic and personal growth.

The responsibilities of a substitute paraprofessional range from supplementing regular classroom curriculum to providing individualized support to students.

Duties :

• Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students.
• Assist the teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class.
• Support administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials.
• Supervise students in various settings including the cafeteria, schoolyard, and during field trips.
• Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.
• Follow provisions specified in IEPs / 504 Plans to support students with special needs.
• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration.
