Introduction Our client is a privately owned practice that takes medicine seriously but doesn't take themselves too seriously! They are currently seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital sees a caseload of approximately 95% cats and dogs, with around 5% exotics at the doctor's discretion. For those with a special interest, there's an opportunity to grow the exotic patient base. The practice isn't a cookie-cutter clinic - they support autonomous medicine and encourage individuality in clinical approach. Working Hours / Rota The hospital itself is open Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm, and on Saturday from 9am to5pm. They are closed on Sundays. Full-time schedules consist of roughly 32 hours over four days, with flexibility around shifts. If a doctor works on Saturday, they receive an additional day off during the week. A typical schedule includes three days of appointments and one full surgical day. The team is open to full-time or part-time arrangements and can be very flexible. Role Description and Responsibilities This is a full-service GP role that includes a range of clinical responsibilities. The hospital welcomes both experienced veterinarians and new graduates. Mentorship is available for new grads, and they are also open to taking new graduates through internships. Practice Details The practice offers 20-minute appointments for annual vaccines with one pet, 30 minutes for two pets, and 40 minutes for three. Rechecks are scheduled for 30 minutes and sick visits for 40 minutes. The hospital is well-equipped with digital x-ray, digital dental, two ultrasounds (including a new unit), and a companion therapy laser. There are four exam rooms, a large separate surgical suite, and a dental suite featuring a new Vet-Tome machine. They also have in-house Idexx labs with a new inVue machine and a full suite of diagnostic capabilities, alongside computerized records. An outdoor euthanasia garden has been created to support compassionate end-of-life care. The practice offers full-service GP care and orthopedic surgery, with mentorship available for those interested in learning orthopedics. They are always open to investing in new equipment as needed. Team The team includes two part-time DVMs, one full-time DVM, and one steady relief veterinarian. The support team is strong, maintaining an excellent 2 : 1 staff-to-doctor ratio.
