Position Summary
The Aircraft Inspector is responsible for performing and documenting detailed inspections of aircraft, engines, and components to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and manufacturer’s requirements. This role ensures that all maintenance activities meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and airworthiness prior to return-to-service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform required inspections of aircraft, engines, components, and associated systems in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
- Verify that all maintenance performed is documented accurately and in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Review, audit, and sign off aircraft logbooks, work cards, and non-routine task cards for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure adherence to approved maintenance programs, manuals, and specifications.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisors, Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs), and Maintenance Control to resolve discrepancies.
- Perform receiving inspections on incoming parts, materials, and components to ensure airworthiness and traceability.
- Assist in maintaining calibration records, tooling verification, and inspection equipment readiness.
- Support and promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across maintenance operations.
- Provide technical guidance and interpretation of inspection requirements for maintenance staff.
- Report and document irregularities, discrepancies, or non-conformances per company and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in internal audits and support FAA or customer audits as required.
Requirements : Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.Minimum of 3 years aircraft maintenance experience, with at least 1 year of ACFT Inspection experience (Part 121 preferred).Strong attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in records review and documentation. Knowledge of FAA regulations, OEM manuals, and standard industry maintenance procedures.Strong organizational and decision-making skills.Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with maintenance, quality, and flight operations personnel.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with aviation maintenance / enterprise systems (e.g., TRAX, Ramco, Corridor, AMOS, or similar).Valid, unrestricted driver’s licenseMust be able to pass a background check and obtain airport security clearance (SIDA badge).Preferred Skills
Verifiable experience with Boeing 737 Classic and Boeing 737 NG aircraftPrevious inspection experience in an airline or MRO supervisory experience.Training in Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Human Factors.Key Competencies
