About The Role
We are seeking a Stationary Engineer / Multi-Skilled Mechanic for a union position in Baltimore. This role is essential to keeping plant equipment and facilities safe, reliable, and running efficiently. You'll handle advanced utilities such as boilers, HVAC, compressors, generators, steam boilers, and cooling systems while also supporting general plant maintenance.
This position is a great fit for someone with a Stationary Engineer certification (Grade 14) and hands-on mechanical experience who thrives in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain boilers and related equipment in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Provide reliable boiler coverage during operations, absences, and vacations.
- Perform hands-on mechanical work including pipe-fitting, welding, machining, rigging, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Maintain and repair pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, and other utilities.
- Safely operate forklifts, loaders, cranes, and pneumatic tools.
- Document work orders, update spare parts inventory, and support continuous improvement.
- Work outside in all weather conditions as needed.
What We're Looking For
Certification Required : Maryland Stationary Engineer license (Grade 1, 2, 3, or 4).Education : High school diploma or GED (no degree required).Experience : 2+ years preferred, OR 1+ year with certification will be considered.Strong mechanical background as a multi-skilled mechanic.Ability to safely handle physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, confined spaces, outdoor work).Why Apply?
