Exciting Opportunity : Join Our Team as a Certified Medical Assistant!
Location : Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to support our team. In this role, you will make a significant impact by ensuring our patients receive exceptional care and assistance throughout their visit. Your responsibilities will include :
- Escorting patients to and from the exam room and completing patient intake according to protocol.
- Cleaning and straightening the exam room between patients to maintain a welcoming environment.
- Preparing syringes and administering subcutaneous and intra-muscular injections.
- Assisting the provider with injectable procedures and ensuring patient safety.
- Preparing pathology and lab specimens and routing them to the correct lab as required by the patient's insurance company.
- Responding to patient questions in the office and via phone as instructed by the physician.
- Scheduling or rescheduling appointments with providers and specialists as necessary.
- Working in compliance with OSHA and blood borne pathogen standards.
- Demonstrating knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Maintaining medication samples, discarding out-of-date supplies, and keeping accurate records.
- Training other employees on medical assistant duties as required by the practice.
- Assisting with check-in or check-out procedures at the front desk when needed as a backup.
- Performing additional duties as required to support our team.

Qualifications :
At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience is preferred.Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work seamlessly within a team.Exceptional professionalism and strong customer service skills.Able to communicate effectively with doctors, patients, and co-workers.Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds and stand for prolonged periods (i.e., one hour at a time).Benefits :
