Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer

Location : Kansas City, Missouri (On-site, 1 day per week (8 hours))

Duration : 12 months, with possible renewal up to 3 additional years

Work Schedule : 1 day per week, 8 hours on-site (flexible within weekday business hours)

We are Seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer (L2–L3) with strong hands-on experience across networking (Cisco / Meraki) and virtualization / cloud (VMware, Azure) to provide on-site, part-time technical support and staff training.

Experience Level :

  • 5–10 years hands-on experience in enterprise or mid-size IT infrastructure environments

Core Technical Skills :

  • Microsoft SQL database administration
  • Windows Server & Active Directory
  • GoTo phone systems
  • General systems maintenance, patching, and upgrades
  • Security Knowledge :

  • Network monitoring and incident response
  • Endpoint and perimeter protection (firewalls, antivirus)
  • Best practices for system hardening and security compliance
  • Certifications (Preferred) :

  • VMware VCP
  • CompTIA Security+ or Network+
  • Ideal Candidate Profile :

  • Experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer with both network and systems expertise, capable of working independently and collaboratively to modernize legacy environments. This individual will provide hands-on technical support, lead by example in mentoring HAKC's IT staff, and ensure seamless integration of updated infrastructure and security components. Candidates should be dependable, adaptable, and comfortable operating within a municipal or public-sector setting.
  • Engagement Duration :

  • 12 months, with possible renewal up to 3 additional years.
