American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac PCU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring a compact or MO RN license and recent teaching hospital experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specializing in cardiac care at a tertiary teaching hospitalPatient ratios typically 1 : 5, with rare flex to 1 : 6Night shifts, 3x12 hours (18 : 45 – 07 : 15)Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as neededCare includes post-cardiac surgery, pre / post cardiac catheterization, post-MI, and pre / post hemodialysis managementUtilizes EPIC EMR; experience requiredWeekend requirement : 8 shifts per 6-week schedule, combination of Friday / Saturday / SundayResponsibilities include cardiac and stepdown patient monitoring, emergency response, and management of post-cardiac surgical patientsMay be assigned charge RN responsibilities and holiday shifts as neededMust be open to floating between units or facilities as requiredNo local candidates accepted; must live at least 75 miles from the facilityTime off requests limited to a maximum of 7 daysComprehensive drug screening required prior to startCompletion of pre-assignment and orientation modules requiredNo travel partners accepted for this assignmentFree parking available on siteFirst-time travelers accepted\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of considerationAt least 2 years of recent specialty PCU / telemetry experience with cardiac focus, including a full year in the specialty within the past 12 monthsTeaching hospital experience requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredStrong skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, post-cardiac and renal care, IV therapy, and emergency responseAbility to perform procedures such as feeding tube care, central and peripheral line management, and tracheostomy managementProficiency working with EPIC EMRReferences : Two required from the past year, including one from a supervisor or above\n Benefits\n
