Do you have experience in business development or consulting within AI, deep tech, or advanced industries?We are looking for a Senior Investment Promotion Advisor to join our engaged U.S. team in San Francisco, driving efforts to attract U.S. companies to invest and expand in Sweden, one of the world's most dynamic and innovation-driven economies. In this high-impact role, you'll work at the intersection of technology, business, and international partnerships, positioning Sweden as the natural gateway for U.S. innovators into Europe. You'll engage directly with senior executives and investors across applied AI, deep tech, advanced manufacturing, dual-use, and space technologies, helping them explore opportunities, invest, and grow in Sweden.This is an active, dynamic, people-oriented, and highly visible client-facing role. The position involves frequent local travel to meet partners, cultivate relationships, attend networking events, and represent the organization across the local market. While most travel will be local and typically within the same day, the role also includes planned international travel to Sweden at least once per quarter for strategic meetings, collaboration, and alignment with the global team.Why Sweden?

  • Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of U.S. companies and investors exploring opportunities to expand to Sweden.
  • Lead investment dialogues from first contact through project realization.
  • Develop compelling business cases showcasing Sweden's industrial strengths, innovation capacity, and talent base.
  • Represent Sweden at leading technology and investment events across the U.S. and Europe.
  • Collaborate closely with Team Sweden partners, including embassies, consulates, innovation agencies, and industry leaders.
  • Strengthen ecosystem partnerships and drive tangible results for both U.S. companies and the Swedish economy.
  • Engage frequently with visionary founders, investors, and global corporations within the transatlantic innovation corridor between Silicon Valley and Sweden.
  • Contribute to shaping international investment and innovation strategies in a collaborative, mission-driven team.
  • Combine strategic insight with strong relationship-building skills in a dynamic, client-facing environment.
  • Travel regularly within the U.S. to meet partners and attend industry events, with quarterly trips to Sweden for strategic meetings and collaboration.
  • Play a key role in advancing Sweden's global competitiveness and supporting U.S. innovators expanding across Europe.

The role is based in San Francisco, and you will collaborate closely with our teams and stakeholders across Sweden and the U.S.Formal requirements

  • Education : Relevant academic degree in business, political science, or related field.
  • Experience : Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in consulting, investment promotion, business development, consulting, VC / PE, corporate development, or industry roles within applied AI, deep tech, defense / space, or robotics.
  • Proven success in international business development or investment attraction (FDI), with the ability to pitch complex value propositions and convert leads into tangible projects.
  • Experience engaging senior-level decision-makers across corporate, government, and research environments.
  • Strong professional network spanning industry, government, and academia in both Sweden and the U.S., or the ability to build one quickly.High level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the U.S. and quarterly to Sweden for collaboration and alignment.
