Summary : The Tag and Title Clerk processes car deals. This includes but is not limited to, verifying costs for the accounting department and handling the legal transfer of documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Job Responsibilities :
Process all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titledProcess registrations for loaner vehicles as short-term rental vehiclesPrepare tax and title documentsSubmit all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor VehiclesVerify that funds have been collected and the correct lienholder has been paid-off before processing title applicationsCheck for accuracy in the application and ensure that all information is completeMaintain a system to verify out-of-state titlesCompile and maintain a complete list of all outstanding title workReport to management on the status of any missing or problem titles and provide a current list of outstanding titles to the Divisional Controller at the end of each monthSign over titles for all wholesalers who have paid in fullProcess yearly renewal of dealer tags in conjunction with the Divisional ControllerStay abreast of title regulationsAttend seminars held by local licensing bureaus and any available training on title regulationsCross-train others to assist with the title department's daily responsibilitiesConduct periodic training sessions for F&I managers and sales personnel regarding title regulations and procedures, and issue written memos to managers and sales personnel whenever regulations changePost wholesale dealsPost auction vehicle purchasesPost dealership purchases, including intercompany purchasesDirect title runner in daily routinesMaintain a professional appearance and a neat work areaQualifications :
Must be at least 18 years oldHigh school diploma or GED requiredAssociate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferredTwo to four years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAutomotive Dealership experience preferredAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosAbility to write simple correspondenceAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Ability to calculate figures and apply mathematical conceptsSelf-Starter with proven ability to seek out new ways to build opportunities for the dealership and customer satisfactionHigh level of initiative and ability to work in a teamBasic MS Office knowledge; computer software, internet proficiency and general mathematic skillsMileOne Autogroup is an equal opportunity employer, and we maintain a drug-free work environment.
