Job description

We are partnered with an extremely well-known general contractor specializing in TxDOT projects across the Houston area. They are seeking a driven Project Manager to join their team and contribute to the continued growth and success of their organization.

Position Overview :

As a Project Manager specializing in TxDOT construction, you will play a vital role in managing the planning, execution, and delivery heavy civil projects, including new construction and repairs. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with at least 4 years of project management experience and a minimum of 10 years of total experience in construction to take on new challenges and advance their career in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead meetings with owners and clients to ensure project communication and delivery
  • Assist in developing comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, in collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project milestones are achieved according to schedule and budgetary constraints.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions to optimize project efficiency and maximize profitability.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all project stakeholders.
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates to project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and senior management, to keep them informed of project progress and address any issues or concerns.
  • Support the implementation of quality assurance processes to uphold the highest standards of construction craftsmanship and client satisfaction.
  • Assist in maintaining strong client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in project management role for TxDOT projects
  • At least 10 years of overall experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
