Job Title : Field Service Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Field Service Technician, where you will be responsible for providing on-site diagnostics and repairs of low voltage electrical systems in various customer locations. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, customer satisfaction, and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various customer locations to perform on-site diagnostics and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical systems including emergency lighting systems, sirens and control modules, wiring harnesses, and auxiliary power systems.
  • Replace or upgrade components as needed to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding service status and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Deep understanding of 12V DC systems and vehicle electrical architecture.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, test lights).
  • Experience identifying faults in wiring harnesses, connectors, relays, and control modules.
  • Safe handling and repair of electrical components in field conditions.

    • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience installing emergency lighting, sirens, control panels, and other low voltage accessories.
  • Knowledge of mounting techniques, wire routing, and fuse protection.
  • Familiarity with OEM and aftermarket equipment standards.
  • Ability to ensure clean, secure, and professional installations that meet safety and operational requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to explain issues and solutions to customers on-site.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple service locations.
  • Professional demeanor and problem-solving mindset in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
  • Accurate documentation of service work, parts used, and recommendations.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with low voltage systems in emergency or service vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of 12V DC electrical systems and vehicle integration.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work independently.
  • Experience with installation and service of products from manufacturers like Code 3, SoundOff Signal, or similar is preferred.
  • ASE or EVT certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with CAN bus systems and vehicle multiplexing.

    Work Environment

    Field Service Technicians will travel around the Phoenix area, supporting customers in diverse settings. Conditions can range from air-conditioned garages to open roadside or construction sites, requiring adaptability and resilience.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gilbert, Arizona.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00 / hr.
