Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team on a seasonal basis. In this role, you will demonstrate your clinical expertise and independent practice while providing both routine and complex nursing care. Your ability to manage various clinical situations with composure and competence will be essential, as will your skills in delegation and teamwork. You will work to achieve long-range care goals, ensuring the best outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities :

- Deliver nursing care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process : assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for your assigned patients.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families consistent with your clinical expertise.
- Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, while monitoring for side effects and the effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess the learning needs of patients and families, providing education to empower them and identify resources available to them.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.Experience
At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of employment or compact is required.Position Requirements :
Education / Skills
All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member, with initial onboarding requirements validated through successful completion of the organizational entry competency and Emergency Department-specific competency validations.Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other orientation specific to their needs, with skills and competency verification done through our program's tracking software.Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.Experience
One year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Current ACLS certification is required.Current PALS certification is required.Current TNCC certification is required.All Associates must obtain required certifications for their positions within the designated time frame as per the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy.
Credential Grace Periods :
If additional credentials are required, a grace period to obtain the certification will apply based on experience level.
Candidates with at least 1 year of acute care clinical experience in a similar service line within the last three years are considered Experienced Associates.Candidates without the required experience are categorized as Experienced Associates New to the Specialty.Work Schedule :
