Overview
ABM is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide multi-site facility infrastructure and reliability support across semiconductor and advanced manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical systems expertise with proven project management and commissioning experience, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of high-tech manufacturing facilities.
This role will work across multiple client locations, supporting both greenfield and brownfield facilities, leading system upgrades, projects, and operational improvements.
Pay : $140,000 - $155,000 DOE
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and technical oversight for site mechanical infrastructure including process cooling water (PCW), chilled water, HVAC, vacuum, CDA, scrubbers, VOC abatement and process exhaust
- Lead or support commissioning, startup, retrofit, and capital improvement projects, ensuring design intent, constructability, and long-term maintainability.
- Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize system uptime and reliability.
- Evaluate system performance data to identify capacity, efficiency, and reliability opportunities across multiple facilities.
- Collaborate with construction, OEM, facilities, and EH&S teams to develop programs, standards, and procedures for safe and efficient operations.
- Develop and update mechanical and process utility drawings, P&IDs, and system documentation.
- Drive standardization and best practices across sites for design review, commissioning, safety, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, SEMI S-series, and local mechanical and environmental codes and standards.
- Support on-call response and root cause analysis for system upsets or reliability events.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).7–12 years of experience in industrial or mission-critical mechanical systems, with exposure to semiconductor, biotech, or similar high-tech facilities.Strong background in mechanical system operation and maintenance, including HVAC, chilled water, vacuum, and process exhaust systems.Proven experience leading commissioning, reliability improvement, or capital upgrade projects.Working knowledge of process cooling, fluid dynamics, and control systems for mechanical utilities.Experience with facility systems integration (e.g., BMS, CMMS, SCADA, others).Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interface directly with client engineering and operations teams.Willingness to travel regionally to support multiple client sites.
