Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for sterilizing, processing, and maintaining supplies, instruments, and equipment in a fast-paced healthcare environment, ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.This opportunity is for full-time, 8-hour shifts (5 shifts per week), and night shifts (11 : 00pm start time). In addition to the base pay, the position is eligible for shift differential, nights - up to an additional $3 / hr.

As a successful candidate, you will :
- Supply Sterilization : Perform the decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, assembly, and sterilization of medical instruments, supplies, and equipment using approved sterilization techniques and equipment.
- Supply Restocking : Replenish and maintain storage of supplies and case cart systems to ensure the availability of sterile equipment and instruments for surgical and medical procedures.
- Inventory Control : Manage inventory control procedures, including labeling and proper documentation of sterilized packages, and monitor inventory levels to meet departmental needs.
- GI Scope Processing : Process and maintain endoscopic instruments, including GI scopes, to the highest standards, ensuring patient safety and infection control.
- Quality Assurance : Report faulty equipment, deficiencies in procedures, and non-compliance with sterilization standards, contributing to the safety and quality of patient care.
- Educational Participation : Actively participate in educational programs and in-service meetings to stay updated on best practices, new technologies, and changes in sterilization protocols.
- Timeliness : Perform all duties efficiently and under urgent timelines to support surgical schedules and patient care.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include :
Post High School Vocational / Specialized Training.Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.Certified Registered Central Service Technician or 1 year of sterile processing experience in an acute care setting.Maintains knowledge in surgical and medical technology through inservices / courses.BLS (through the American Heart Association), is required.CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) is preferred.City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria : work experience, qualifications, and work location
