About The Position

Must have charge experience.

No first-time travelers.

Description :

Department consists of 8 chairs for dialysis treatment.

The unit operates three days a week with two shifts of patients per day.

The average number of patients per day is 16, totaling 32 patients per week.

Weekday staffing includes 1 Nurse Practitioner, 1 Registered Nurse, 2 Technicians, and 1 Certified Nursing Assistant.

Weekend staffing includes 2 Registered Nurses, 2 Technicians, and 1 Certified Nursing Assistant.

Responsibilities include overseeing the entire dialysis treatment process and the department.

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after treatment.

Develop and adjust dialysis care plans based on patient needs.

Administer medications, including heparin, as necessary.

Respond to complications such as hypotension, clotting, and adverse reactions.

Educate patients on dialysis care, diet, and lifestyle modifications.

Supervise dialysis technicians to ensure quality of care.

Maintain compliance with safety regulations and policies.

Duties for Certified Nursing Assistants include greeting and checking in patients.

They escort patients to treatment areas and assist with rooming.

Initial vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and weight, are to be obtained and documented.

Health history should be recorded and updated in electronic medical records as needed.

Assist with pre- and post-dialysis care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Monitor patients for signs of discomfort or complications and report findings promptly.

The department operates from 5 AM to 5 PM.

There is a weekend requirement every other week.

Open for all holidays except Christmas, with potential holiday rotation.

No call or standby requirements exist.

There are no floating requirements for staff.

Scrub color is flexible, but ankles must be covered.

Lab coats will be provided.

There will be 2 shifts of orientation with a preceptor.

This is an outpatient unit connected to a hospital and located in a rural area.

The charting system used is Cerner.
