Overview
The Community Programs & Administrative Support Specialist plays a key role in advancing community engagement and organizational initiatives. This position leads strategic partnerships and outreach efforts, coordinates community and branch events, and promotes volunteer involvement and engagement. In addition, the role provides essential administrative support for executive meetings, communications, and initiatives, including Board of Advisors activities and the Annual Campaign.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, schools, and businessesRepresent the organization at community meetings, events, and public functionsPlan, coordinate, and execute community engagement events and internal staff eventsPromote, coordinate, and support volunteer opportunities, onboarding, and stewardshipSupport executive-led projects and initiatives through planning, tracking, and reportingDraft, proofread, and manage executive-level communications, including emails, reports, and presentationsPrepare and maintain Board documents such as rosters, agendas, minutes, and follow-up actionsProvide administrative and logistical support to Annual Campaign leadership throughout the planning and fundraising processSupervise the Office Administrator, ensuring completion of scheduling, reporting, information management, and office support tasksCoordinate staff recognition programs and committees to strengthen employee engagementExpert skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for document creation, data analysis, presentations, and communicationDemonstrates clear, professional verbal and written communicationEffectively manages multiple tasks and deadlinesNavigates and resolves issues constructively and diplomaticallyDemonstrates reliability, integrity, and accountability in all responsibilitiesManages details and data effectively, ensuring accuracy and accessibilityBrings fresh ideas to planning, problem-solving, and presentationsBuilds positive relationships and communicates effectively with individuals and groupsProvides guidance, support, and oversight to staff and volunteersOther duties as assignedQualifications
Bachelor's degree required3+ years' experience in community engagement, event planning, volunteer coordination, program development, diversity and inclusion, administration, and executive supportLicensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and includesubsequentarrest notificationsCPR / AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child / Infant, obtained within30 daysofhireand must be from one of the following certifying organizations :American Red Cross

Pay Range
USD $26.04 - USD $31.24 / Hr.
