Patent Agent – Charlotte, NC or Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid)

An Am Law 60 firm is seeking a Patent Agent with a degree in engineering or computer science and at least two years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution . This role offers the opportunity to work with a talented team of attorneys on innovative technologies spanning medical devices, consumer products, software, electronics, and more.

About the Role

In this position, you’ll collaborate with attorneys and clients to build and manage U.S. and international patent portfolios , draft and prosecute patent applications, and conduct freedom-to-operate and patent landscape analyses . The role provides exposure to a diverse range of technologies and clients, all within a supportive, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Do

• Draft and prosecute patent applications across a variety of industries
• Conduct due diligence, patentability, and FTO analyses
• Partner closely with attorneys and inventors to develop IP strategy
• Contribute to managing both domestic and global patent portfolios
