Compliance Program Lead
Responsibilities : Lead Anthropic's Sanctions and Regulatory Compliance program, including managing associated risks. Build and maintain effective compliance programs including for areas such as trade sanctions and artificial intelligence. Manage reporting of compliance risk to leadership, and effectively communicate compliance related topics to cross-functional stakeholders. Work closely with our legal and regulatory operations partners to ensure Anthropic develops strong and effective compliance programs. Assist in managing regulatory outreach and communications as needed in partnership with Legal and Operations teams. Assist in managing customer and third-party outreach and communications as needed in partnership with Legal and Operations teams. Set compliance-related policies, communication and training strategies to ensure employees understand the program. Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Anthropic's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.
You may be a good fit if you have : At least 10 years of experience leading sanctions and compliance functions, particularly with an evolving global regulatory environment. Proven ability to design, implement and manage comprehensive compliance programs across trade sanctions, export control and other regulatory areas. Experience building high-performing teams that adapt to evolving regulatory landscapes. A leadership style characterized by integrity, sound judgment, strategic thinking and solution-orientation. Exceptional communication skills that drive stakeholder buy-in, create lasting change and establish accountability. Strong candidates may have : Prior experience in a Big 4 or other compliance consulting or advisory professional services firm. Experience in a hyper-scaling tech company or other fast-paced environment.
Role-specific policy : For this role, we expect staff to be able to work from either our San Francisco, New York or Washington, DC office at least 3 days a week, though we encourage you to apply even if you might need some flexibility for an interim period of time.
The expected base compensation for this position is below. Our total compensation package for full-time employees includes equity, benefits, and may include incentive compensation.
Annual Salary : $270,000 - $345,000 USD

Education requirements : We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Location-based hybrid policy : Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
