Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown Float Pool assignment in Colorado requiring two years of PCU / IMC experience and night shifts.
Responsibilities
Work in a float pool covering multiple PCU / IMC units across diverse specialties including general, cardiac, neuro, oncology, rehab, renal, bariatrics, ortho, trauma, ED observation, and more within a hospital acute care settingAdult to geriatric patient population with cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, surgical, psych / detox, ENT, and general medicine casesNurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 3-4 depending on acuityRequired to work 12-hour night shifts with 6-9 weekend shifts in each 6-week scheduleFloating required within Zone 1 (60-mile radius from Colorado Springs), with no home base facilityMay be assigned to multiple partner facilities within the designated zoneUse of EpicCare Inpatient EMR systemRNs must be comfortable managing and titrating cardiac, insulin, ativan, and heparin dripsUnit has designated charge nurses and nurse aides availableResponsible for patient care within various specialty PCU / IMC units and may float between stepdown, ICU (low acuity holds within skill set), and MS-Tele unitsOrientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor and a week of initial onboarding in-stateMust be flexible and able to fill schedule gaps as needed; all RTO must be submitted before assignmentHoliday coverage may be required as part of rotationAny color scrubs are permittedMay not have been employed by the associated health system or affiliates in the past year (excluding PRN agency work)First-time travelers will be considered for this roleRequirements
Active CO or compact RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum of 2 years recent PCU / IMC experience requiredCertifications required : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, and TNCCExperience with cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan requiredEpic EMR experience preferredMust provide a copy of driver’s licenseMust submit two professional references : one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 yearsMust reside at least 60 miles outside the float zone city centerBenefits
