Position Summary :
A member of the CST Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the Dean, the Assistant Dean, Finance directs daily operations and leads the planning, analysis, reporting, policy development and continuous, strategic improvement for finance, budgets and accounting, facilities and operations for CST, including the forecasting, development and management of approximately $110 million budget.
Responsibilities include : advising the Dean and senior staff on all financial matters related to day-to-day operations; with detailed oversight of developing, implementing, maintaining and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures; establishing budget projections and financial strategic planning and documentation for the Provost's Office; advising and providing strategic guidance and recommendations for the Dean and senior staff on resource allocation; presenting quarterly budget reports; and promoting the growth of auxiliary programs for the College of Science & Technology. The Assistant Dean will oversee the budgets and carry-over funds for six academic departments and approximately 10 administrative units, as well as development funds and scholarship activity. Acts in a management capacity to directly supervise three finance and accounting direct reports in fiscal operations, planning and budget, operations, and capital projects & facilities. Shared responsibility with Associate Dean of Research and the Associate Director of Research Administration. Serves as the Schools' liaison to central administrative departments including the Provost, Budget Office, General Accounting, purchasing and others in the execution of this role.
The Assistant Dean will be involved in supporting personnel administration, including input into hiring and compensation related matters as these relate to budgets, and will oversee the Position Control Number (PCN system). The incumbent will also work with various University, Schools / Colleges and external entities to plan, coordinate and institute services in support of the school's mission, goals and strategic plan.

Required Education & Experience :
Master's degree and at least 7 years of directly related experience in a complex business or university setting that includes : leadership and staff supervision; budget and financial planning; and business and operations management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
