We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Carlsbad, California. This is a long-term contract opportunity ideal for someone with a keen attention to detail and expertise in financial reporting and reconciliation. The role involves managing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, and contributing to the overall efficiency of financial operations.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and post journal entries related to lease accounting, fixed assets, and prepaids amortization.
• Reconcile accounts receivable clearing accounts to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
• Analyze material cost margins and generate detailed reports to support financial decision-making.
• Calculate and record depreciation for fixed assets and manage associated journal entries.
• Develop and maintain schedules for prepaid insurance and other intangible assets.
• Prepare accruals for customer and store promotional activities, spoils reserves, and customer reclaim processes.
• Distribute key financial reports, including retail freight metrics, product unit trends, and customer profit and loss statements.
• Conduct product margin analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
• Support month-end close activities by preparing post-close reporting schedules.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with accounting principles and organizational policies.
