Job Description

Position Purpose

The Training & Development Manager will design, create, and implement a comprehensive construction training and development strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Training and development needs shall be identified through surveys, performance reviews, and interviews.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training materials and programs for various roles, including technical skills, and leadership development.
  • Facilitate on-boarding training for new projects and new personnel as required to meet training program goals.
  • Oversee the delivery of training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
  • Ensure all training programs meet industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Stay updated on legal requirements and best practices in construction training.
  • Lead and manage existing leadership teams to roll out and assist with training.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the organization.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, evaluations, and performance metrics.
  • Continuously refine training initiatives based on feedback and changing industry needs.
  • Work closely with project managers, HR, and other departments to ensure training is relevant and effectively addresses operational needs.
  • Collaborate with external training providers and industry experts as needed.
  • Develop and manage the training budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Monitor training expenses and provide regular reports on training initiatives.
  • Qualifications

    Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, required
  • 5+ Years in training construction teams and / or as a construction professional (project manager and above)
  • Construction experience, required
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

  • Must be proficient in : Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and CAD / Visio, REVIT
  • Knowledge in Procore is required.
  • Individual must be driven, hardworking and dedicated, required
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, required
  • An energetic self-starter with a "can do / whatever it takes" attitude who can perform under pressure, work successfully on tight deadlines and identify and resolve problems as they arise, required
  • Open to frequent travel
