Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with at least two years of ED experience, current WA or compact RN license, and advanced certifications for a 13-week assignment.
Responsibilities
Work in a 24-bed free-standing Emergency DepartmentStaffing ratio is 1 RN to 4 patientsDay shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 to 19 : 30, three shifts per weekApproximately 15% of patients are pediatricNo RT or pharmacy on site; RNs perform RT and pharmacy dutiesSpecial procedures include breathing treatments, chest tube care, CPAP / BiPap, high-frequency vents, procedure sedation, RSI drugs, trach care, vent management, blood administration, cardioversion / defibrillation, 12-lead EKG, PA lines, rapid infuser, tele interpretation, drains, feeding tube management, PICC / central line and port-a-cath care, syringe pumps, and triple lumen cathetersEpic EMR is used; Epic experience requiredFloating required between all facilities within the stateRNs are responsible for providing both RT and pharmacy functions as part of their daily roleAll travelers must float as needed to other facilities in the stateRNs are expected to meet all facility scheduling requirements; block scheduling and late starts are not accommodatedReturning permanent staff must have a minimum 3-month separation from Providence prior to travel assignment eligibilityCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facilityRequested time off must be declared during submittal; additional time off may not be granted post-submittalPre-employment modules must be completed prior to start and annuallyReliable transportation is requiredRequirements
Active WA or Compact RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years recent ED experienceCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSSExperience with Epic EMRDemonstrated proficiency with trach care, cardioversion / defibrillation, breathing treatments, feeding tube management, PICC line care, rapid infuser, and PA linesMust provide two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years in a comparable specialtyBenefits
