Overview

Advanced Heart Failure Transplant Cardiologist. Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a fellowship trained, board certified / board eligible Advanced Heart Failure Transplant Cardiologist for our Advanced Heart Failure Transplant team for the Greater Austin Region. Our heart failure services include remote monitoring, disease-specific approaches such as amyloidosis and sarcoidosis, as well as heart transplant / ventricular assist devices (VAD), temporary MCS, and involvement in interdisciplinary programs.

You will join a team of 9 advanced heart failure specialists that serve the advanced heart disease, replacement and recovery program at BSWH for Central Texas and Greater Austin. The regional team currently supports approximately 200 temporary mechanical circulatory support devices and 50 heart replacements annually, with a focus on quality and longitudinal well-being for our patients and caregivers. The advanced heart failure team supports interdisciplinary programs as part of an integrated-based approach including robust structural, surgical, and multimodality imaging team members.

The position is dedicated to expanding our advanced heart failure services for BSWH in the Greater Austin Region, focused on inpatient and outpatient services in Lakeway and Round Rock hospitals.

The candidate will have additional predominant inpatient service responsibilities related to the LVAD / HTx program with an expectation of inpatient rounding, VAD / HTx clinic, including ECHO for VAD / HTx and invasive procedures (RHC, Implantable PA monitor, and endomyocardial biopsies) available to be performed in Lakeway.
